My son (who was about six-years old at the time. participated in a Art project about years ago. I would like something similar to it be done every year.
Marin County Open Space hosted a community‑based, artist‑led plant sculpture project along the lagoon. The installation began as an open invitation for residents of all ages to join the artist in weaving and shaping large organic wreaths made from local vegetation. Over several days, volunteers gathered by the water, chatting, sharing stories, and contributing pieces of dried reeds, willow, and other native plants to build an expansive, collaborative art structure that slowly took shape as a living tapestry of the community’s hands.
Once completed, the artwork was transported to Stafford Lake, where it became part of a larger outdoor exhibition, allowing visitors to continue experiencing the piece within a new natural landscape.
