I agree that providing care for an aging population in Marin is important, but that cannot come at the cost of neglecting our youth and young people. Young people in Marin County lack third spaces and affordable transportation. Youth also face constant stigma regarding discussions of mental health and substance abuse. If we want a just Marin, we also must make it easier for young people to live rich and fulfilling lives here too.

Increased access to public transportation for those living in “deep neighborhoods” or on backroads that are thought of as an easily accessible. The closest bus stop is outside my neighborhood which I can’t walk to. So in short, working on expanding the range of Marin’s public transportation to smaller neighborhoods so that disabled residents and seniors have easier access to public transportation without having to walk outside of their own neighborhood.
