Please ban the sale of scented laundry products in county laundromats. These products emit chemicals that are toxic to all of us as well as to wildlife. Benzene, acetaldehyde, and phthalates are widely recognized as carcinogens and endocrine disruptors. The EPA says there is no safe level of exposure to the first two listed. Yet, they fill the air when emitted from dryer vents. Over the last few days, 49 people posted on Nextdoor about how sick these products make them. Today, 10 more posted. A few months ago, 44 posted, then the next day 50 more posted. By the 3rd day, the total was 103. It is not small matter. This is the new second-hand smoke. Please pass an ordinance banning the sale in county laundromats - just as many municipalities are now banning the sale of tobacco/nicotine products in their towns.
