Traffic is and will be even more terrible in the future. We'll need better commuter alternatives within the county and across the bridges, benefits reduction in pollution too. Change the mindset of everyone having cars then maybe we can build public transportation that's effective, useful, and connected everywhere 24x7. Maybe it will change with flying vehicles, Boring Co tunnels, and other inventions like hyper loops which can be made at low cost were it done correctly. Not so much an idea as it is a dream for now. At least start thinking about this before the 2 miles trip via car to Safeway takes 30 minutes.
