My idea is that the county would either push back on the state mandate to continually build housing in general, and particularly to eliminate the focus on San Rafael for its new projects as it's already overcrowded. The new projects that had feasibility studies waived because they're near mass transit don't take into consideration environmental, parking, grid overload, water scarcity, or even safety impacts. I recommend halting further building in San Rafael central, and instead places like Marinwood or Lucas Valley be considered as priorities if the state mandate can't be amended. I also recommend that senior housing be a priority for those with low, fixed incomes, and that budget considerations include tiny homes in several towns for the unhoused. It may be useful to also have a volunteer program for juniors and seniors in high school to help senior citizens with odd jobs around the house and yard for an hour a week. Thanks for considering!
