Marin has gone through some major population growth since the 60’s. It’s amazing how much natural environment has been loss in such a very short time. One of the greatest attractions of Marin County has been the Open Space and the unique beauty of our surroundings. With the increase of housing requirements, and the influx of those with unlimited financial resources and limited environmental awareness, it would be wise to put a cap on the square footage of homes being built. These mansions built by and for the greedy are a wasteful use of natural and county resources. They are as well the death of precious and diminishing natural habitat. If a large chunk of land is to be purchased in Marin, that is a privilege and it should be done as a philanthropic commitment to stewardship of the habitat surrounding a modestly sized home. Put the land before the greed. Once it’s gone - it’s gone for good.
