What neighbors are saying

Ideas from across every question in this campaign, newest first.

  • Make investing in our employees a strategic priority to build a stronger future for Marin County. Our workforce is our greatest asset, and recruiting, developing, and retaining quality staff is essential to providing excellent public service. This means ensuring adequate staffing to meet workloads, working in good faith toward equitable benefits across labor agreements, and improving dental coverage or offsetting deficiencies. We should invest in professional development, career advancement, and growing talent from within. The County should promote work-life balance and mental health by fostering a culture that recognizes employees as people with responsibilities and lives outside of work. Flexible work arrangements should be considered when appropriate to the responsibilities of each role, with an emphasis on balancing operational needs, accountability and employee well-being. Trust and empower supervisors to manage their teams.

  • I’d like to see more live theatre being offered and wonder if the Marin Center could host plays of an “off broadway” type caliber, similar to Berkeley Rep, also adding a small cafe offering for coffee and light treats.

  • unify the following services of the multiplicity of towns into fewer operational areas: LIBRARIES, POLICE DISTRICTS, FIRE DEPARTMENTS, INDEPENDENT TOWN COUNCILS. GET RID OF UNINCORPORATED AREAS SO THE ARE ATTACHED TO A TOWNSHIP FOR SERVICES CUT THE RED TAPE AND DESLAYSE AN]MONG THE PARKS AND CAL TRANS AND FLOOD DISTRICTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL AGENCIES SO THE WORK IN A COORDINATED FASHION TO GET STUFF DONE MORE EFFICIENTLY. I AM ON A FLOOD BOARD ADVISORY FOR FLOOD ZONE 4 AND THE DELAYS AND MULI\TIPLE STUDIES AND FINANCIAL WASTE ARE LAUGHABLE AND SAD THIS COUNTY IS ANTIQUATED IN ITS STUTURE AND OPERATION

  • I think Marin needs to make solar power more accessible to many households. Giving rebates for solar installation and electric cars. Helping middle and low income people afford electric cars, heat pump systems and subsidies for electric cars. Free electric charging stations in various locations and electric school buses and city vehicles. More clean energy!!!!!

  • Continue diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, calling it exactly that. Promote [county wide] stands against hate initiatives. Invest in inclusive and educational efforts at the high schools as well (elementary & middle schools do this well in Mill. Valley). Continue family night out initiatives with local police. Invest in schools in Marin City and provide opportunities for Marin City community and Mill Valley community to engage as students need exposure prior to cross collaborating for the first time upon entering TAM high school.

  • A market place that has individual vendors to sell their food, crafts, goods kind of like the one in Honolulu. Not just a weekend but all the time.
